La avestruz en Uruguay

# Su nombre cientifico es Rhea Americana.
# Its scientific name is Rhea Americana.


# La Avestruz es originaria de America del Sur.

# Es un ave corredora de gran tamano, un poco mas pequena que el avestruz africano.
# It is a large running bird, slightly smaller that the African ostrich.


# Hace pocas decadas esta especie estuvo muy reducida en numero. Debido a la destruccion de su habitat natural, a los alambrados de los campos y a la caza ya que sus plumas eran muy apreciadas y como  tambien su carne.
