Estas arañas son grandes consumidoras de escarabajos, principalmente de el bicho torito (Dilodoberus abderus), se cree que estas pueden comer 65 mil de estos escarabajos por hectarea al mes, son un gran insecticida natural.
Thse spiders are large consumers of beetles mainly the bull-insect (dilodoberus abderus). it is believed that it can eat 65 thousand of these beetles per hectare  and per month, it is a great natural insecticide.

Estas pertenecen a la familia Theraphosidae (Tarantulas) que contienen las arañas mas grandes del mundo.
These belong to the family Theraphosidae (tarantulas) that contain the largest spiders in the world.

Estas arañas son muy activas por la noche.

Si bien la mordedura de estas especies de arañas puede llegar a doler como si uno se pinchara con un clavo, la sustancia que inoculan no es toxica para el ser humano.

La tarantula E. weijenberghi resulata invencible cuando esta dentro de su cueva, ya que esta hace un tubito muy estrecho al final de la misma. Alli la araña le presenta su grasos abdomen que le impide a la avispa acceder a los centros nerviosos de la araña, y asi su picadura no hace efecto.
The tarantula E.weijenberghi resumes invincible when it is inside its cave, since it makes a very narrow tube at the end of it. There the spider presents its fatty abdomen that prevents the wasp from accessiing the nervous center of the spider, and thus its bite has no effect.
